Yarra Glen Chamber of Commerce Inc.

The Yarra Glen Chamber of Commerce Inc. is a business association that works to aid and assists businesses in the Yarra Valley region.

The Chamber of Commerce was established in 1985 due to the common interest for development of a bypass and street-scape projects. Members researched and lobbied with Council to improve the region with these projects, coming to an understanding that these projects benefited regional areas in the long term.

Past presidents such as John Lithgow, John Osborne and Bob Curtis, have all been prominent business owners in Yarra Glen and have all had a passionate interest in improving small business in the Yarra Valley.

Currently the Presidentship lies with Rod Faulkner, a local family and businessman devoted to serving locals. His business, Yarra Glen Quality Meats, is located right in town. Being a member for over 4 years he has assisted in dealing with local issues, specifically improving the quality of public toilets in Yarra Glen.

Over the past 25 years the Chamber has achieved various goals such as:

- Putting Main-street renewal on the priority list of the local Council.
- Toilet seats on toilets + weekly maintenance due to Rod Faulkner’s public press release.
- Improved communications with local Council, Yarra Valley Chambers of Commerce and the Federal member for Casey Tony Smith.
- New and improved self-guided tour brochures for region distributed with the cooperation of Yarra Ranges Regional Marketing.
- Information stand at Burning Passions Candle Shop installed due to devoted members working with Council.

The Chamber and its members have a desire to see the area thrive and grow as a beautiful country town located just 55 minutes from the CBD. The Chamber aims to see growth for the town, attract more tourists to the area, develop strategies for ongoing festivals/events, liaising with Council for improved infrastructure and promote growth for small business.
